At Rubino & Liang Wealth Partners, we specialize in retirement income and tax planning for individuals age 55+ preparing for or living in retirement.

Founder & Managing Partner
In 1974, at the young age of 9, Sam immigrated with his parents to the US from Hong Kong. He spent his first year in the states learning English while enrolled in elementary school. During his college days at UMass Lowell, he worked many jobs to pay for his tuition, and was awarded the prestigious Francis Lowell Cabot award for Young Alumni of the Year.
Sam understands what it means to work hard. That’s why he’s passionate about helping his clients keep what they’ve worked hard for all of their lives so they can enjoy a worry-free retirement. He’s been doing this since 1990. In the early years, when Sam (and now retired partner Richard Rubino) started this company, it was just the two of them, a desk, and a phone.

Partner & Investment Advisor Representative
John Conley has been with Rubino & Liang since 1996. Before entering the financial industry, John served in the United States Marine Corps from 1990-1994 and achieved the rank of Corporal Non-Commissioned Officer.
With almost 26 years of experience in the industry, John focuses on strategies to help meet the various needs of clients, such as retirement planning, asset accumulation, college funding, and retirement income solutions. He is Series 65 licensed and is a Life advisor in MA, NH, RI, and FL. John provides financial and investment advice and personally manages his clients’ investment portfolios as a fiduciary advisor.

Partner & Investment Advisor Representative
Ryan Marston joined Rubino & Liang in 2009 so he could help assist pre-retirees and retirees with strategies that get them closer to maintaining a happy, stress-free lifestyle. Ryan is Series 65 licensed, provides financial and investment advice, and personally manages his clients’ investment portfolios as a fiduciary advisor.
After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a major in economics, Ryan entered the financial industry at Bank of America Investment Services. Ryan currently lives in Natick with his wife, Ashley, and son, Cody. In his free time, he enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle, running, golfing, and spending time with his family.
It’s simple: we handle the many aspects of retirement planning, such as investment management, creating your own pension or income plan, protecting your assets from future potential long-term care costs, and creating estate plans to protect your assets for your family. In other words, we make your assets work for you so they last throughout your retirement, no matter how long it lasts.
In everything we do, we start with you. For every person who comes into our office, we sit down, get to know them, answer questions, and develop a thorough understanding of what matters to them, what keeps them up at night, where they want to go in life, and what challenges and opportunities they face.
With that as our foundation, we collaborate with them to design a plan that fits their life and gives them confidence in their future. And we don’t stop there. We continue to build a personal relationship with our clients and walk them through life’s transitions and milestones, evaluating their plan regularly to make sure it’s still working for them.
You won’t find cookie-cutter solutions here. While many of the strategies for building a more successful retirement are the same, when and how we implement them may change based on your individual circumstances.
This is built for people who want an adult conversation about retirement income, not generic advice.

But You Are Worried How Outside Factors Can Affect Your Retirement Portfolio:
THAT’S WHY WE CREATED THE 365 RETIREMENT PLAN
If you’re within 5–10 years of retirement (or recently retired) and you’ve saved $500,000+, you can schedule a 15 minute retirement income and tax snapshot to help you pressure-test what your portfolio can realistically support — and what to do next.

Most firms start with your investments. We start with your retirement income reality.
The 365 Retirement Plan is our structured process for aligning:
At the center is a simple idea: your Portfolio Income Needs (PIN) — the amount of income your portfolio may need to generate to support your lifestyle after accounting for Social Security, pensions, and other income sources.
This phone call will give us both a chance to make sure your situation matches our expertise. After all, you wouldn’t see a podiatrist if you needed heart surgery!
Work with our team to create a comprehensive strategy that coordinates all aspects of your personal and financial situation. We provide specific recommendations on how to accomplish your retirement goals.
Start feeling confident, content, and secure with your retirement situation. You might even sleep better!
In 15 minutes, we’ll help you move from “I think we’re okay” to “Here’s what we should do next.”
a practical estimate of what your portfolio may need to generate to support your retirement lifestyle
what matters most right now — income strategy, tax strategy, withdrawal timing, or risk control
A simple plan that shows the next 1–3 actions to improve confidence and reduce avoidable mistakes
Why it matters: Because most retirement anxiety isn’t about “market noise” — it’s about not having a framework you trust.
So we can understand your situation
For your 15-Minute Snapshot
(and decide if it makes sense to go deeper)
Note: This call is a short diagnostic. If it looks like there’s real planning value, we’ll suggest a deeper next step — but the Snapshot itself is designed to be useful on its own.
If you’re within 10 years of retirement and want to pressure-test your income + tax plan, start here.
There is no cost for the snapshot.
No. It’s a quick diagnostic conversation to help you get oriented. If it’s clear that we can add value, we’ll tell you what a next step could look like.
There are three really important things about our firm that separate us from others:
1. All we do is retirement planning. We are retirement specialists with a simple goal of making sure you don’t run out of money.
2. We limit the number of new clients we take on so we can ensure that our clients receive massive value and personalized service.
3. We invest in industry-leading technology to simplify our clients’ lives, so our retirement plans can be designed to work every day of the year, so you don’t have to.
We do our best work with people looking for a long-term relationship. Currently, our firm is not equipped to offer an hourly fee schedule or a one-time project fee option.
If you need help locating a financial planner who offers these fee options, send us a note and we will do our best to get you in the right hands.
If you have them handy: approximate portfolio balance, income sources (pension/Social Security timing ideas), and your best guess at monthly spending in retirement.
